About Artist - Biography Additions

Born 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. Raised in Pasadena, CA, Dallas, TX and Madison, WI. Educated at The Abbey School in Canon City, CO, The University of Notre Dame, South Bend, IN and The San Francisco Art Institute, CA. My studio is located in Madison, WI.

In support of his art Peter has worked in a beef slaughterhouse, done landscaping, worked as a stonemason, managed restaurants, sold liquor, worked as a cook, a copyrighter and served the Frank Lloyd Wright foundation by working as a tour guide at Taliesin (WI). Each of these experiences helped to define a sense of kinship and commonality between the artist and coworkers, and a shared belief that all life is reflected and rooted in the building blocks of nature. Above all, these jobs established a deep belief that we are all created and survive through the laws and constructs of simply everyday life.

Mission Statement

As an artist I attempt to capture the essence of life experienced through the visual representation of each piece I create. As living, breathing creatures we all are impacted hundreds of times a day. Through art I've found a way to reflect the sights, sounds and experiences in a form I hope most can relate to. I try to reconstruct what impacts the mind's eye through a distillation process that ends up in a painting or drawing. Through this process I invite everyone to absorb the simplicities and complexities of living though images- and I depend on the viewer to travel by way of these pictures to find a connection within themselves.
